Library Media Specialist, Middle School - We are seeking a passionate and innovative educator to join our middle school team as a Project-Based Learning (PBL) Teacher. Anticipated probationary position effective 9/1/25. NYS certification required. Minimum salary $51,518, actual salary based on education and experience pursuant to the wage schedule posted on the district’s website.
The ideal candidate will foster a student-centered, inquiry-based classroom that emphasizes real-world connections, collaboration, and critical thinking. This role requires creativity, flexibility, and a strong commitment to personalized and experiential learning.
NYS certification required.
Design and facilitate interdisciplinary, standards-aligned project-based units that engage students in authentic learning experiences.
Create a classroom culture that promotes student voice, choice, and agency.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop integrated, cross-curricular projects.
Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and evaluate both process and product.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of middle school learners.
Guide students through the project cycle: inquiry, research, problem-solving, creation, presentation, and reflection.
Incorporate community partnerships and real-world problems into project design.
Integrate technology as a tool for research, collaboration, and product creation.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
Communicate regularly with families and caregivers about student progress.
