QMS Employment Exploration Class
QMS Explore course is designed to engage students and offer career exploration opportunities. In order to become successful, students must possess the knowledge and skills to understand how to optimize their own talents, interests, skills and strengths. At the conclusion of the course, students will understand the reasons for optimizing personal goals, future employment, and community service through career exploration.

Course Goals:

provide students with activities that introduce, entice and induct students into the world of work

Develop students work readiness skills by learning how to take leadership of their vocational learning, career development and navigating their future employment pathways

Provide age appropriate opportunities and learning experiences for grade 8 students

Offer choices and provide a range of opportunities for employers/employees and entrepreneurs to contribute to the education and career development of young people.
Course Foundations
Work Exposure covers activities that reveal ideas, information and concepts about a relatively unknown world of work and career development by young people.
Work Exploration covers activities in which young people explore, examine and investigate a new and/or unexpected world of work.
Work Experience is activities that offer young people close and more sustained opportunities for observation and participation in one or more workplaces.
