A Special Education Teacher in a summer program in Glens Falls North, NY would be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities during the summer months. This includes adapting curriculum, developing and implementing IEPs, collaborating with other professionals, and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Assessment and Planning: . Assess students' skills and needs, develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), and modify lesson plans to meet individual student needs. Instruction and Support: . Deliver instruction to individual students, small groups, or the entire class, providing support and guidance to help students achieve their IEP goals. Collaboration and Communication: . Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure students receive appropriate support and services. Data Tracking and Reporting: . Track student progress, maintain records of student performance, and communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress. Classroom Management: . Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student learning and development. Specific Summer Program Duties: Curriculum Adaptation: Develop and adapt curriculum to meet the specific needs of students with disabilities during the summer months. IEP Implementation: Implement and update IEPs to reflect student progress and goals. Summer Learning Activities: Design and implement engaging and meaningful summer learning activities that support student development. Transition Planning: Assist students with transitioning back to the regular school year.
